I have many fond memories of Dr. Hobday because of being friends with his daughter Mary since second grade. He was a person of substance and principle who was also sociable and had a ready wit. He was genuinely interested in other people and so clearly loved his family and enjoyed life. He helped so many people both through his practice and his compassion. My sympathies to all the Hobday family.

I would like offer the family of Dr. Hobday my most sincere and heart felt condolences on the loss of such a wonderful and caring man. Dr. Hobday is not the kind of man that people will ever forget. He was a very warm and caring man. Dr. Hobday was my ophthalmologist for many years. I remember how when he would come into the exam room that he would always seem to have a smile on his face and would always have something nice to say or a funny joke. I will also always remember how much love and respect there seemed to be in his family. You could see it every time that the family would come into church on Sunday's but, even more around the Holiday Seasons. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May The Good Lord Bless You All and God Bless Dr. Hobday.

To the Hobday family, I was saddened to read(online)of the death of Dr. Tom. He saw our family for many years and was such a good person and kind doctor. I had the pleasure of working with Kathleen at The Family Life Office and some of my children were in school with Meg at SJP. He will be greatly missed by many people, but mostly by you, his loving family. Know of my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

My deepest sympathy to the Hobday family. Dr. Hobday was a warm, kind and generous man. The profound impact Dr. and Mrs. had on me in jr. high, high school and beyond have forever shaped me. The constant example of giving back and helping others I continue to carry with me. They welcomed me always like part of the family.
What a living legacy this man has left to carry on in his name.
Peace and love to all of you.

My mother was among Dr. Hobday's first patients when he came to St. Cloud. I took her to an appointment after Dad died and Dr. Hobday came out to the waiting room to meet me. I was impressed. Little did I know that within 10 years I would begin working for him. I stayed there for over 16 years. It was a great job.
God bless all the Hobdays.

Our son, was treated for retinalblastoma 30 years ago and Dr. Hobday was our doctor. Our son was only 11 months old at the time, and Dr. Hobday was the best doctor we could have asked for. He was kind and caring and our son is cancer free up to this day. We are saddened by his loss. Our prayers are with you and your family,

I have worked at Eye Surgeons and Physicians for 20 years and I have never worked for anyone that was as kind and thoughtful to his patients and employees as Dr.Hobday. One of the things that stood out in my mind when I first started here was the loving relationship he and Kathleen had. The second thing that stood out to me was how proud he was of his family...and for good reason, because they are all very special. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Annie, Patty, Kathy, and family~ You are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. I will never forget the gentleness that your father had. To Kathy and your entire lovely family:
I have lost a life-long friend, we go back to first grade at St. Mary's Elementary school in Le Center. We played golf, double-dated and sang together in a high school barbershop
quartet through our teen's. There is no way you can replace a pal like that.
I will miss him so much, even though over the years we went on our private journey's. He is leaving a legacy of hard work, solid rock family values, a firm believer in his faith, a wife who was a constant and faithful companion.
And all those wonderful children and grand kids to carry on his memories will be a constant reminder of who he was. I think about your family and wish you comfort in your days of grief.
Tom, I love ya man, and now, the suffering is over for you. May you rest now in peace.

I know Pa Hobday as a sweet and generous dad, whose good-hearted spirit was evident every time we invaded his house. Knowing his remarkable family, it's clear this guy had a few things figured out. Bless him and his family for their inquisitive spirits, their kind hearts, and their love for everybody (no exceptions!). My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Hobday family: You don't know me but I am a good friend of Rita Evens. I have known for sometime that Dr. Hobday was ill. He was a classmate of my brother, Ed Boehm at St. John's. And his mother was the first 'non-trad' student I had ever encountered when I was a nursing student at ST. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. She was carrying a full load that year, and as I recall, Cathy was still a high school student. Bernie was commuting every day from Le Center and she still managed to get the top grades and scored the highest on our state boards. I'm sure she was an inspiration to Tom and his siblings as she was to us. You have my sympathy. Having worked in the local healthcare systems in the SC area, I know how much Dr. Hobday was respected. Sincerely, Judy (Boehm)Boisen, Richmond, MN> Formerly of LE Sueur.
