What a wonderful guy Pat was. Even as a teenager working at the local boy scout camp you never saw or heard of Pat acting anything but kind and respectful. When we had to set up the dock system at the camp beach I recall Pat just lifting a whole section on his back and hauling it out to the deep water. Why? Because he just could. Complain? Never. He just chugged forward sneaking between trees because he was too gentle to snap one off. What a great guy. I can't imagine why the Lord felt he needed him at this young age, but we at least got to know him and love him for a short time here. May the angels lead him into paradise for he was worthy. Dominus vobiscum, Pat.

I wish I had known Patrick - reading about his life touched me - what a wonderful man - good, gifted, multi-talented, generous and more. I know Jeanne and many members of the Dwyer and Cofell families.
To all of you, especially to Jeanne, the children and grandchildren, everyone in the Dwyer and Cofell families, my deepest sympathy.
I carry you and Patrick in my heart and prayers. God grant you
consolation, comfort and strength as you grieve, remember and celebrate who Patrick is and all that he means for you.
Take tender care, Sister Katherine Kraft, OSB

Pat Dwyer was great teacher and incredible human being. He and Jeanne Cofell welcomed my sons into their home when they started school at Saint John’s Preparatory School in 2008. In every school break, when the dormitories closed, they stayed with Pat’s family. He was the amazing contact who introduced us to all the Dwyers. So, the extended family became our friends and this friendship continues to be a treasure for me, my Husband Peter Jacob, sons Tabeel and Sachal Jacob.
Pat himself is one of the most kind, sweet, loving and caring people, I have met in my life. I still remember the day when I landed at Minneapolis airport to visit my sons, in February 2009. There was a heavy snow storm but Pat was there to pick me up. Our journey was very slow because of the weather but Pat made it lively. He gave me his phone to talk to my sons who were waiting to see me in Collegeville. After I finished my conversation on phone, Pat claimed he knew Urdu. Then he spoke the words Shampoo, spring break and home work. And we laughed spontaneously. He picked up on these three words which I spoke to my sons while on the phone He had a marvelous sense of humor. He dropped me to my sons and that was my first, unforgettable, meeting with Pat Dwyer.
Later in August 2009, I started my masters at St. Cloud State University. I stayed in Minnesota for two years and spent a lot of time with Pat, Jeanne, their son Liam and Pat’s mom Rita Dwyer. They took us to their extended family on celebrations and Minnesota became a second home for us. During my time at Minnesota, I found him very open, warm, helpful and sociable person. He was continuously willing to help others and spread happiness. He was a great chef and we often cooked Pakistani food. He was always very concerned about Tabeel and Sachal’s education and progress. Last time we whole family were together in Minnesota for Thanksgiving with Dwyers in 2011. Pat was with same smile and warmth. Till recent times, we were connected through email and Facebook. My whole family has very joyful memories of Pat to cherish. We will miss him fondly. May he rest in eternal peace.
Our deepest condolences to Jeanne, Kieran, Emerson, Liam, Pat’s siblings, in-laws, their families, friends and Prep school community.

What terrible news! - Patrick was such an outgoing, caring, always eager to learn, and empathetic person. Mary and I send our sorrowful best wishes to Jeanne, to their children and grandchildren and the rest of their great family.
We had a wonderful visit to your house a few years ago, full of wonderful objects and a productive garden too. And of course have been in touch through Jeanne's Cofell family as neighbors of the Hynes's in Collegeville for so many (nearly a 100?) years. We had some wonderful evenings together in South Bend when he was visiting his son Emerson at Notre Dame, discussing science, teaching ideas, philosophy in general - all subjects under the sun came to those expansive evenings - and then of course the wonderful joining together of Emerson and Brittany in marriage at Notre Dame. We are all going to sorely miss him - but he will remain in our memories for always - Love to all the family, as you share joyfully his wonderful life, as he rests in peace.

My deepest sympathy to you Jeanne, your children & all your family. I went to grade school with Pat & remember him as a quiet boy with that beautiful red hair! I was more surprised when I heard he married a Bennie that I went to high school with! Know there are many who have you in thought & prayer. May God with His loving care bring your heart peace during this difficult time. Sincerely, Brenda Litzinger
