Richard Kisch Obituary

Richard J. Kisch

St. Cloud - Richard J. Kisch, age 85, died peacefully on August 11, 2018.

A private ceremony and memorial service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with Honor Guard.

Richard was born on the West Side of St. Paul to Peter and Margaret Kisch. He was a life-licensed Minnesota school teacher, a New York Stock Exchange licensed Registered Representative, a licensed Minnesota Insurance Representative, and was North American Inland Waterways Sailing Vessel certified. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He taught school at White Bear Lake, Mankato State University Lab School and the School of Education. He was the Alumni Director at Mankato State University and St Cloud State University.

He was employed by Piper Jaffray Brokerage Firm in St Cloud for 20 years.

He was the recipient of the Boy Scouts of America Award of Merit from the Mankato Twin Valley Council and the St Cloud Scenic District.

He was involved in organizing numerous Bluegrass and Country Western musical groups in Central Minnesota including the Jammers at Whitney Senior Center. He was a proud member of several musical groups in the area.

He enjoyed his cabin, children, animals, art, music, reading, sailing, gardening, inventing and building.

He will be remembered as a devoted father and husband with a wonderful sense of humor and clever, generous wit.

He was a true renaissance man, could build a house, fix a car, play any instrument and paint a picture all with equal aplomb.

Survivors include wife, Jacqueline, sons Richard (Annette) of Guam, Christopher (Catherine) of Inver Grove Heights, John (Catherine) of Mumbai India and James (Angela) of Washington IL, sister Colleen Kisch of West Saint Paul, and nine grandchildren.

I am so sorry for your loss John. Your father was one of the kindest and happiest man I have ever known. I will always remember the picture of you and your brothers, along with your father, with shaving cream and shaving in the mirror. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
