Richard "Rich" Steil, 65

Cold Spring

March 25, 1947 - July 13, 2012

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Richard Steil, age 65, who died Friday at his home surrounded by his family. Inurnment will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 16th at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m., Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Rich was born in Cold Spring to Ralph and Dolores (Johannes) Steil. He married Beverly Brunn on September 9, 1972 in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm, MN. Rich served in the U.S. Army from 1968 - 1970. He worked at Cold Spring Granite Co. for 35 years and later with C&D Granite until his retirement. Rich was a Befriender at St. Boniface Parish. He loved to play golf with his friends and he especially enjoyed being with friends and family at the cabin. Rich loved fishing and hunting and was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to many.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Bev; children, Sherri (Jeff) Schmitz, Krissy (Ryan) Monnens; grandchildren, Patrick Schmitz, Olivia Monnens; brothers, Duane (Judy), Tom (Carol), Curt (Deb) and Bill.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank St. Cloud Hospital Hospice for the care they extended to Rich during his illness.
