April 15, 1923 - April 29, 2017
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Warren John Schwindel, age 94, who died Saturday at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Entombment will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Monday in the church Narthex.
Warren was born in St. Joseph, MN to Joseph and Clara (Warnert) Schwindel. He married Esther Yunik on May 20, 1950 in Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany, MN. Warren served in the Air Force from 1943-1945 as a communication specialist in England. He worked for over 35 years as an Officer and Director of Finance at the Cold Spring Granite Company. Warren was devoted to prayer and to his religion. He was an avid reader and golfer. Warren was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Cold Spring VFW and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Michael) Kaufman; grandchildren, John Kaufman and Megan (Chris) Matt; great-grandchildren, Brianna and Aubrey Matt; sisters, Marie Peckskamp and Kathleen Minkley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esther; siblings, Ruth Kaeter and Gilbert Schwindel.
