Erin McGowan Obituary
She was born in Portsmouth, N.H. on November 4, 1970, daughter of A. Thomas McGowan of Hampton and Diane E. McGowan of Exeter.
Raised in Hampton, she graduated from Winnacunnet High School with the Class of 1989 and went on to graduate from The College of New Rochelle in 1993.
Discovering her love for New York while attending college, she made it her home after graduation and started working at JPMorgan Chase as a client service manager.
Erin was an avid reader, runner and animal lover who volunteered and acted as a foster caregiver for the ASPCA in NY. She also volunteered for Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Erin always put others first and will forever be remembered for her big heart and gentle soul.
In addition to her parents, surviving family members include her siblings, Kathleen Bates and her husband Chris of Eagle, Colo., Colleen Cote and her husband Christopher of Exeter, N.H., Colin McGowan and his wife Melissa of Vienna, Va. and Margaret Willson and her husband Jess of Rockton, Ill.; longtime loving companion Matthew Storey of New York and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Burial will follow at the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA NY, 415 East 91st Street, NY, NY 10128.
