Jared was like a grandson to me, everyday that I look at his sweet face in
my office and on my wall I think of him and all the wonderful things he did for my husband and me . He was the most caring, loving unselfish , giving young man I have ever known and I miss him every day. He is my angel in heaven and I know he looks down on us every day and is watching over us. RIP my sweet boy.

Jared, my first best friend. I miss you tremendously, cuz. For the past couple of days I have been living in memories of our childhood. Whenever we were going somewhere, I just remember asking my parents, can Jared come? Sure enough, you were down for the adventure, whatever that adventure may be; from kayaking, to jumping off bridges/cliffs, hiking, body surfing at Hampton Beach, racing each other, the list is endless. You were my partner in crime. It has brought me comfort witnessing the impact you have had on so many people. Jared, you have shared with us your passion for life, smile, contagious laugh, energy, and above all, your gigantic heart; and for that I will be forever grateful and think of you everyday. I love you. Rest easy, until we meet again

I remember playing basketball at HAJH after school and thats where I met Jared. I already knew Pat and at first only knew him as Pats little brother. Quickly we became friendly and from that time on it was always a pleasure to run into Jared. My condolences to the entire Gillis family.

I Had the privilege of coaching Jared when he played football with the Little Warriors. His smile and quiet resolve are things that stood out. When he broke his arm his reply to coach Steve was "I'll be back"
What Jared went on to accomplish is no surprise to those who knew him best.
On behalf of my self and my two son's we give our condolences to the Gillis family.

My big cousin,
I remember as a kid you, Freddie and Pat used to say whos that over there and Id shyly grin back and youd smirk over to the boys and add no that cant be, is that Ellie belly? Ellie belly full of jelly?? And Id pretend to not like the attention but we all knew I adored it. And then the three of you would break out in tune singing Ellie belly full of jelly as I fought the smile from growing bigger on my face.
I still adore you, we all do. Thank you for creating memories like this with me. I selfishly want more but Ill delight in the ones you gave me.
Love your little cousin,
Ellie

Jared Gillis
I only knew you for a short period of time but through our interactions I could tell you were a fun, loving, and genuine person. You and the rest of your family made me feel very welcomed and I felt a since of belonging, being the partner of your cousin Kaleigh, I saw the deep bond and love you two had; so to say you will be missed does not quite summarize it. Thank you for being so kind. My thoughts, prayers, and strength goes out to the family.

Genuine, kind and compassionate, Jared had the ability to connect with young and old and make you feel better about yourself just being in his company. He brought so much joy and love to his family and friends. He will remain forever in our hearts and deeply missed.

Jared was an enthusiastic student and a true joy to have in Sports Journalism his senior year at WHS. Im was thrilled to see him return to coach basketball and give back to his community. Its a true testimony to his character. He was kind and loyal, and embodied the Warrior spirit. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, players, and all who knew him.

Jared was a little brother I admired.
His passion, his drive and his happiness inspired everyone that he met including me. As his older brother I always admired him.
When we were little we used to talk about sports. That was something we bonded over. Wether we were playing 45s or rummy or as a family we enjoyed that precious time together.
Having a brother is like having a built in best friend. I treasured him as such. I never thought I would be saying goodbye to my brother when we still had so many more memories to make. I will always tell Connor, Amelia and Freddie about you and share stories and memories from when we were younger. Please keep an eye on them.
This isnt goodbye this is until we meet again. Wait at the gates of paradise for us. We love you Jared
Love you so much!
