I have so many memories of John I don't know where to begin. He was a great neighbor growing up and then became a good friend after I grew up and then family. I remember sitting by the fire having a beer quietly talking, times when he was having the kids playing music and singing. He was always so full of life. He is greatly missed.

He was a great man and an even greater human being for how he always made time to help the ones he loved no matter what. He showed me many things as i grew into the man I am today. I called him uncle john or uncle whiskah's, but really he was more of a father then anything always teaching us how to be truthful and showing us the skills it took in life to get by and be better to one another. He was best friends and served in the military with my father richard smith for many years until my dad passed in 1994. He took the raines from there even though I didnt get to see him alot he always made sure he had time to say hi and check up to see how we were. He will be missed dearly by our family and we hope that his life will show others how you truely can live your life to its fullest and still be humble. Love ya uncle whiskah's.
