June Cooke Obituary

HAMPTON — June Skoglund Cooke, 83, of Hampton, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at her home.

She was born on March 31, 1925, in Quincy, Mass., the daughter of the late Alan and Helen (Durling) Long. She was a graduate of North Quincy High School.

Mrs. Cooke had resided in Hampton since 1954, coming from Weymouth, Mass. Her family was most important to her and she enjoyed traveling.

She was predeceased by her first husband, John H. Skoglund, in 1978; and her second husband, Kenneth Cooke, in 1991.

Family members include her daughter, Melissa H. Marston and husband Timothy; three sons, David J. Skoglund and wife Marsha, all of Hampton, Wayne A. Skoglund and wife Nancy of Hampton Falls and Stephen C. Skoglund and wife Judy of Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: There will be no visiting hours. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will follow in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Visit www.RemickGendron.com.

Melissa and Family,
My heart goes out to you at this time. June was a wonderful and spirited Lady!! I will never forget those "Ladies Weekends" and visiting at "The Old Salt" It was always so great to see her when I came to town. Remember the happy times! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
