Al continued his education at the University of Washington, graduating with the Class of '52 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. His community service included Kiwanis, Seattle Junior Crew and Community Services for the Blind. Al was recently honored with the dedication of a shell in his name by the Green Lake Crew for his role in promoting and strengthening the Junior Crew Rowing program.
