Amelia Bullock Obituary

Amelia Emery Bullock

Amelia Emery Bullock, whose beautiful smile brought joy to everyone she met, died suddenly Sunday, Oct. 23. She was just 20 months old. She had never had more than the sniffles, so the speed in which leukemia took her in just one day stunned everyone.

Amelia's beautiful eyes and lashes made everyone swoon. She was funny, smart and gentle. She loved animals as much as people and she really loved people. In the last couple months, she had become quite the dancer. Whenever the music would come on, she would move her hips and swing her arms in time to the beat. And she had started to sing.

Her mother, Elizabeth Bullock, and her father, Marquis Bullock, showered her with love and attention. Mom was her best friend. They were always out and about so Amelia could experience new things. Elizabeth never left her side. Lizzie took so many pictures of her that by Amelia's first birthday she knew to stop what she was doing and smile for the camera. But her heart also belonged to her daddy, Marquis. She would meet him at the door when he got home from work at night with hugs and kisses. She loved to play with dad and he with her. At night, the three of them would cuddle on the sofa, holding each other tightly, often with their kitty, Khalessi. She was the light and magic of both their lives.

Amelia was graced with a large loving family. On her mom's side are her maternal grandparents, Marianne Bichsel and Wiley Brooks, and her sister, Alexandra, and brother, Mickey, as well as her maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Bichsel (Tacoma). Her dad's family includes paternal grandparents Nancy Rodriquez (San Antonio, TX), and Walter Bullock of Kennewick, and Marquis' step-mother, Bobbi Holz, and son, Peyton, Marquis' adult siblings Walter Jr. (San Antonio) and Crystal Lee (San Antonio) and paternal great grandmother Elidia Brown (Tukwila). She will be hugely missed by her nanny-mate Arabella Newman and her many great aunts, uncles & cousins.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday (Oct. 28) at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 1700 Edmonds Ave. NE, Renton, WA 98056. Marquis and Lizzie ask that you dress colorfully to reflect Amelia's spirit. They also request that in lieu of flowers that you contribute in Amelia's name to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, or to Seattle Children's Hospital. Children's care-givers worked tirelessly to save her and treated her family with love and respect.

Baby girl. I know you through your grandma Marianne. My favorite picture is of you and your dad at, I think, a b-ball game. You are on his shoulders and you have your fingers up his nose. You both look like you love it. Goof.
I hope you had a good life - it sure looks like you did! Be assured that because of you, there are many folks who will try to take care of your mom and dad.

No words can express the immense pain I feel for Amelia's quick departure. No doubt this is now in the Hands of Our Lord and from the sky she is sending lots of shine, love and strength for her parents, Marquis and Liz. I Pray to God to give you the strength you need to overcome this loss. You will always be remembered in our hearts, Little Amelia.

Amelia captured the heart of everyone that she met. Liz and Marquis made sure that she got to meet a lot of people! So many affected by her and her short time on this earth. There is so much love radiating towards the family now and always.
