Anita Swarm Obituary

Anita June Parkinson SWARM Age 88, of Federal Way, Washington, died March 22, 2008. She was born September 25, 1919 at Seattle General Hospital to Joseph Parkinson and Margaret Elliot Parkinson. She married H. Myron Swarm on December 26, 1940. He died in 1987. Survivors include her daughter, Marnita (Jerry) Magner of Las Vegas, Nevada; Bob (Arlene) Swarm of Federal Way; Park Swarm of Sacramento, California; and David (Jean Ann) Swarm of Seattle; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren along with five great-grandchildren. Anita attended the following Seattle Schools: Fairview Grade School, John Marshall Junior High School, and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1937. She earned an Education BA from the University of Washington in 1941. Anita lived most of her life in north Seattle and was active in the University of Washington Faculty Wives, FIUTS, PEO, the Women's Society at University Methodist Temple, and the North Seattle Lapidary & Mineral Club. She held offices in all these organizations. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, painting, woodcarving, rock hounding. She also designed and created silver and copper jewelry and was a volunteer worker at Children's Orthopedic Hospital. The family sends thanks to the Staff at Foundation House, Federal Way, for Mother's excellent care. Donations may be given to Children's Orthopedic Hospital, University Methodist Temple, or Seabeck Christian Conference Center. Services at 3 p.m. Monday, 3/31/08.
