Archie Cress Obituary

Archie Lawrence CRESS Archie Cress, a well-loved and respected woodshop teacher who taught at Seattle's Madison Junior High and Issaquah's Pine Lake Middle School as well as directed the waterfront program at Camp Sambica for over thirty years, died Sunday, December 12th, he was 80. Archie was an active member of Westminster Chapel, he taught in the church youth program and led many camping excursions for both church and Camp Sambica. Archie was an active member in Seattle's Model A Ford Club and championed youth involvement in Model A Ford activities. Archie will be remembered for his strong faith, leadership, humor and story-telling; Archie was loved by many and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Joan, children, Roy, Brian, Ted, Sharon, and Eric, along with his children's spouses and twelve grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 20th at 11:00 am at Westminster Chapel in Bellevue. A memorial fund in Archie's honor is established at Camp Sambica wwwcampsambica.com.
