Beverly Wilburn Obituary
Beverly Jeanne Wilburn, 81, passed in Bellevue, Washington on April 4, 2016. She was born on April 3, 1935 in Winfield, Kansas to loving parents Harold and Martha Cottom. The family moved to Seattle, Washington where she spent the rest of her life enjoying the companionship of family and friends, set within the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from Garfield High School she began her career at Pacific Northwest Bell. Retiring after 30 years of service, she devoted herself to nurturing relationships with family and friends, being there at the ready to support others. She enjoyed serving others, hosting and organizing family functions including holiday dinners, outings to the Puyallup Fair, the theater, and movie nights at home. Those who loved her will sorely miss the warmth in her eyes and the smile on her face. May she rest in eternal peace.
Her former husband, Preston Wilburn, Jr. who remained friends until his passing, preceded her. She is survived by her siblings Harold, James, and Donald Cottom; children Demetra (Randy) Finley, Parris (Jacki), Bradley, Shawn, and Kiese Wilburn; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:30am, Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Pl SE, Bellevue, Washington, 98007, with a Graveside Service to follow. www.sunsethillsfuneralhome.com

The world has lost a beautiful person at a time when it needs more beautiful persons. My fondest memories are of Beverly helping at the Mount Zion Vacation Bible School. No job was too big or too small. In her always whitest white tennis shoes, she helped make VBS a wonderful two weeks for children and adults.
