I am totally heart broken. Such an amazing person. Bill will be missed. I was first a client and quickly a friend. My heart hurts for his family. So sorry for such an incredible loss.

Bill and I were brothers-in-law but I loved him like my own flesh and blood. I remember so many precious times, like Christmas Eve celebrations at the Pugel's, when Bill would invariably haul the youngest niece or nephew around on his tall, broad shoulders, being careful to duck under the doorways. Everywhere we look, in the Pugel family home, the homes of his entire family, and our beloved Priest Lake cabin, we see evidence of Bill's amazing skills and craftsmanship.

But my most cherished memories of Bill are not related to his skills. My best memories are our camping trips, motorcycle rides, his insatiable appetite for learning, his generosity, and most of all, his utterly irreverent sense of humor. Everyone who met him became a friend. Words can't describe the loss we feel.

For as long as I can remember I would always cringe watching Bill back into his narrow driveway with precision. The blue van was immaculate without a scratch! Though I did not have a chance to know Bill well, it was this 4th of July that we connected celebrating with neighbors watching a fireworks display. After the fireworks Bill said "we need to set up a go fund me for next year, let's do this again and make it a neighborhood tradition". For sure the tradition that began this year will continue and we all will think of you. My sincere condolences to all of the family and friends.

Dear family and friends of Bill, Bill was our magnet to whom we all cling with unbreakable grip! We will hold onto his magnetism of delightful spirit, humor, ingenious invention, problem solving, and ability to put us all in the comfort zone without pause. His presence will always be with all of us --in our family -- and we will remain with all of you in the Pugel family. God bless you, Bill.

We always enjoyed visiting with Bill at the cousin gatherings ,he always showed such genuine interest in each conversation and showed such insight and interest in a variety of areas. What a great sense of humor he had always made us laugh. We will truly miss him, he left way to soon, our hearts are aching, we are thinking and praying for all of our dear cousins during this difficult painful period.

Bill was exactly as his story reads full of life and laughter and our kids loved it when he came to our house to work on various projects. We loved hearing about his adventures, his family and his love of the outdoors. The Mt Baker neighborhood will not be the same without his blue van cruising around. His family and friends are in our thoughts. RIP Bill.

Bill was an amazing person and I will miss him every day. He was a man who lived in the moment and found joy in it. He was gifted with so many talents, a true renaissance man. He lives in many places of my home, from the art wall he helped me create to curtains he hung that grace my dining room. He was like the brother I never had. Four days prior to his passing, we worked on an art installation together. That evening I sent him a message “thank you for all your help today. You are the BEST!!” his reply “thanks, it was a good day”. He was a special soul. May he rest in peace in the arms of the lord.

Auntie Jane and Cousins,
We look around our homes and see Bill’s loving touch - even the door bell works...who knew?

Our hearts are broken as we grieve the loss of our kin- one of our own...

Bill was funny, smart and talented- he had it all.

We will continue Bills campaign to bring back the “j”.

With Love to you all,
Chris Pugelj Zabriskie, Beth Pugelj, & Michelle Pugelj

We are so sorry to hear this news. While we have the O’Dea, HNA and Mt Baker connection - we also always think of Bill when we make grilled cheese sandwiches. Bill was doing some work at our house and our daughter Charlotte, about 4 at the time, was quite smitten. Bill would eat lunch with her and I made grilled cheese. For years - she would ask for a ‘Bill Pugel sandwich!’ Our prayers are with your family. Therese McKee Platt

When I think of Bill a quick smile with many wonderful memories from gatherings with family and friends (of which he had MANY). His quick wit and mastery of impressions made him a popular guest at the table. Bigfoot walking and Uncle Eddie (from Christmas Vacation) make me smile as I write this. He will truly be missed.

William P., I will forever cherish your caring heart, hysterical wit, your view on life, your stories and most of all, how you taught me when driving home, which you showed me when you had been working on our house, how to turn off my car engine on 99, and coast all the way from Woodland Park Zoo to the front of my house, right next to Greenlake, because you said it saved gas! Lol ❣ I have never laughed so hard as when in your presence. I can’t wait to see you again one day.

Ah, Bill, we are going to miss you but we will certainly never forget you. We always looked forward to you dropping by Park Avenue because we knew a good story or a great joke would be forthcoming. We still retell a few of the most memorable ones. It was alway a pleasure to work with you and get to know you. Thanks for the memories.
