My deepest condolences to the family. Brian was a great guy and I have many fond memories of him from our childhood.

Wow... this is so sad. I remember Brian at Bellevue Junior High and Bellevue High. We had many classes together including Stage Band in the mornings. One of those super-nice guys that are so hard to find anymore.

For those who grew up in the Enatai area of Bellevue back in the 1970s, or who attended Bellevue Junior High or Bellevue High in the early 1980s, you probably knew Brian.
He was one of those people who everyone liked. He didn't belong to one clique or another, nor did he ever judge those who were different. He was equally liked by the jocks and the stoners and the academics and everyone in between.
I knew Brian going back to the mid 1970's, when he and I played on the same Little League team - the Hawks (Teds) and the Hawks (Majors).
In the years I knew Brian, I never once heard a single person ever say anything but nice things about him. He was one of those rare individuals who seemed to bring out the best in others, put others at ease, and always had a smile on his face.
I didn't see Brian for a number of years after we finished school together, then he came into my shop a few times to have some engraving done on some golf awards, if memory serves - and he was the very same affable Brian Nelson that I remembered from those days, decades ago.
It was nice to catch up with him, and to share some memories of the old neighborhood.
He will be sorely missed. His time came far too soon.
