Carol Kibble Obituary

Carol Jean KIBBLE Carol passed away Wednesday Feb. 15th in the late afternoon. She died holding her husband Ted's hand and surrounded by her daughters Cara, Beth and Katie and son in law Ryan Gamaunt. Carol was born to Lyman and Helen Greeley on March 25th 1939 in Tacoma Washington. She grew up in Puyallup Washington and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1957. Following graduation she attended Western Washington College of Education where she met her husband, Ted, during her sophomore year. She then attended the University of Washington until leaving to become a stewardess for Northwest Orient Airline. Within a year Northwest went on strike. By the time the strike had ended Ted had convinced Carol they should marry soon, thus ending her career in the airlines. They were married in July of 1961 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family trip to France last summer. Carol and Ted were deeply in love from the beginning and traveled together, often with their children, both internationally and to National State Parks. They also sailed for over 30 years first as a family, then just together after their daughters grew up and married. They spent many days in the waters between Seattle and Desolation Sound as well as in the Caribbean and West Indies. In addition to sailing and travel the family all skied together as the "kids" were growing up. Carol loved God, her family, her home and her garden. When diagnosed with pancreatic cancer she said "I feel at peace with this. We have had a wonderful life and I know the Lord is with me."She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother full of both grace and beauty. Carol is survived by her husband Edward B. (Ted) Kibble, her daughters Cara Moon, Beth Feist and Kathryn (Katie) Gamaunt; sons in laws, Pat Moon, Larry Feist and Ryan Gamaunt as well as grandchildren Alicia, Kaylie, Madi, Mariah and Luc. She is also survived by her sister Marjorie Frelin of Puyallup and brother and sister in law Jim and Carol Kibble of Seattle. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 9th at 2 pm at the University Presbyterian Church, 4540 15th Ave N.E. Seattle WA. Donations can be made in favor of the Pancreatic Cancer Division at Cancer Care Alliance P.O. Box 19023, Seattle, WA 98109 or Providence Hospice of Seattle 425 Pontius Ave. North, Suite 300 Seattle WA. 98109.
