So sorry to hear of Don's passing. I worked for Murray Franklyn for 10 years starting in 1984 and did maintenance on his personal home. Don was a gracious man and always took care of me.

It's hard to believe it has been 8 years. I think of Don often as I drive around the Puget Sound area and see all of the neighborhoods that we built and remember walking the properties together as vacant land. Fun times.

Dawn, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure you don't remember me but I started working for Murray Franklyn in 1978 and spent 10 very good years with the company. It was a wonderful experience for me to work for the Don's and Parker. Jasper was a man of such good character. How fortunate I was to work for him when I was just starting my career. I often fondly share stories from those days. My condolences.

Dawn: I was totally shocked to learn today from bob Schofield that Don had cancer, let alone that he passed two weeks ago.

At this age, we are all vulnerable, but with Don I was totally caught off guard. Bob said that you recently learned that he was at risk, but for some reason that word never came my way. Sharon and I wish we could have been there to provided some emotional support at the service. We have been traveling and are now back e Desert until mid-June.

Although I did not see Don on a regular basis, he was a sincere person that I admired and enjoyed being around. What a loss for you, the family, his business associates and friends. He will always have a special place in my thoughts. JOE

I was just advised of Don's passing and I wanted you to know I was sorry to hear of his death When I was Scoutmaster of Troop 606 Don an Dean were both important members of the troop. Don became a good friend and I appreciated his many contributions to the troop - especially the fun times we had on campouts.

Dear Dawn, Dean, Leigh, and Chaun,
The entire Hess family is so sorry for your loss. Don was so good to us all. Don was a mentor to many as other people have expressed in this forum. He will be dearly missed by many a what a tribute that is. A wise man once said that if you really want to see how important and big you are, then put your hand in a bucket of water, then pull it out and note how much the water level goes down. For most people, the change is insignificant. With Don, the bucket is empty.

I worked for Don eons ago for Murray Franklyn. He was tough and taught me quite a bit from just a few of his words. A great mentor. His lessons have impacted me greatly in the success I have had in my career.

You have my deepest sympathies for the loss of a great man, and father. What few occasions I had the pleasure to meet, and be around Don, provided me with the understanding of what a great man of character he was. I am truly sorry he is gone, and I know he will be missed dearly.

Don was a man's man, inspiring individualism, modeling professionalism, a caring person whose heart and mind seemed always in sync. We will miss him but have each of us who knew him a special spot in our memories that will inspire us to live life fully, admirably, courageously, and tirelessly committed to family, friends, co-workers, and integrtiy in all that one does in life.
