Evelyn Roach Obituary

Evelyn Regina

(Dolly) LeGaz Roach

Sept. 28, 1918 ~ Dec. 25, 2013

On Christmas morning our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister went home to be with our Lord, and reunite with her loving husband.

She was the sixth child of nine, born to Anthony and Josephine LeGaz, and the first daughter. Her father called her his little dolly, and the name stuck. She was a graduate of Ballard High School. August 22, 1942 she married, George and they started their life together, building a home in Blue Ridge, and raising their family there. Working for Boeing during the war, then together they ran their hardware store in Loyal Heights, and started selling and installing Window-o-Vents.

As a family they enjoyed fishing, be it on the Sound, Lake Washington or the coast. For many years the highlight was the family fishing trip to Lake Nulki, in B.C. The whole family gathered, her children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, truly a family affair.

She also loved her Fuchsias, and would spend hours in her greenhouse working in the dirt. She started some of her own, that she named for her family. She was a member of the Greater Seattle Fuchsia Society.

Dolly leaves behind a loving family, a daughter Patty (Gordy) Reinholdtsen, and two sons, George, and Gary (Kwan) Roach. Four granddaughters, Leslie (Steve) Lord, Crystal (Darrin) Harthun, Erica (Jay) Matsuoka, Jackie Clayburn, and one grandson Marc (Lori) Clayburn. Three great grandsons, Kolbie Harthun, William and Benjamin Matsuoka and two great granddaughters, Kaileigh Harthun and Alyssa Clayburn. Three sisters, Helen Koob, Juanita West, Irene Nicholson and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of her life at Anthony's Homeport-Shilshole, February 22nd, 2014, from 2pm to 6pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Seattle Medic One.
