I just came across Frank's obituary. Something reminded me of him today and I realized a lot of time had gone by since we last communicated. Now I sadly understand why. Frank was an awesome friend and fellow lawyer. The excitement level always went up quite a few notches whenever Frank arrived in Alaska either to involve me in some issue for one of his clients or to go fishing - sometimes with his dad and always with several of his law partners. My wife and I had a great time visiting Frank and Rose in Japan in 1992. I think of him whenever I start an especially difficult crossword puzzle -- "start with the small words and build from them!" I can hear him yet today reminiscing about growing up in Rainier Beach. We were never in the same law firm but I count Frank among my most important mentors. He was one of the greats and today is a lot sadder knowing I can't reach out to tell him hello and how much I enjoyed our friendship.

I just learned of Frank’s death from a mutual friend and was very saddened. Frank was a very caring, committed to his work, ethical and always went the extra mile for his friends and clients. He loved his family which kept him balanced with the world. He never let a friend down. He simply made the world a brighter and better place.
My deepest condolences to his family. I will always remember Frank with a smile and gratitude that our paths crossed - he was a fine, and good man.

I was just going to write to Frank when I decided to google his name, and found out that he passed away. I met Frank in 1995 as a fellow lawyer. Over the years we became good friends and were known to each other as "IMM" or international men of mystery. I actually stayed at his house in 2001 and he visited mine in Malaysia. There was something special about Frank. My deepest condolences to Rose and his kids and grandkids. I will always cherish the memories we had together. For nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.

I am so very sad to just learn of Frank's passing. To know Frank was to know someone of great integrity and generosity. I knew him when I was a school leader where his children attended school. He was supportive, positive, fair and unfailingly kind. My heart extends to his family and all those he touched throughout his life.

I was just notified of Frank's passing and my heart sank.
Frank was assisting with my brother's estate and I was fortunate to have someone so kind and compassionate to help with the legal process through a difficult time. I had hoped to make it back to Seattle and meet up with him for lunch/coffee - I enjoyed the conversations we had about life in general and could tell by his compassion he had been through much in life. He was gracious, grateful, and generous.
My deepest sympathies to family and friends - thoughts and prayers are with you.

Frank was always there with a kind words, a good joke & some piece of wisdom or advice that's so profound it actually is worth taking! His jokes disarm you so the message sinks in. He just had a way about him. He believed in the people he loved and cared about more than we sometimes believe in ourselves! When I think of Frank, I seee such a light of life & inspiration. Not only do I feel sad and sickened by losing him. But I feel sorry for the rest of the planet that Wass unlucky enough to not know him! Love you Frank. I miss our talks on Sundays! Love you!

Frank and Rose were neighbors (Fife) of my parents about 40 years ago. They both were the kind of neighbors people dreamed of having, thoughtful, loving, and generous beyond words. They kept a watchful eye on my parents. Frank was like a son to my Mother. I enjoyed watching him kidding her with his jokes and stories. Their laugh was a joyous sound and their smiles lit up the room. My Father respected Frank as a son as well. During a difficult time in my life, Frank represented me during an ugly divorce. I never received a bill for it, hoping my Father took care of his expenses. I will never forget his kindness. To Rose and Family, I offer you my deepest sympathy. Your Frank will be missed. The beauty in all this unbelievable sadness is He will be in your hearts forever! Sincerely, Karen Smith Bailes

Frank was my favorite bar regular. Than he was my friend. He was also my lawyer and my mentor. But most importantly Frank was my advocate when I had none. Every word he ever said and lesson he taught me will be with me for the rest of my days. He will be missed by so many but the impact he made on this Earth will never be forgotten. He was always doing good things and helping people because he saw the good in them. He is no longer in pain and somewhere safe. We will all be okay if we can manage to live even one day like our friend Frank did.

I worked for frank at BMAT from 2010 to 2016. He was a tough boss, and we clashed sometimes. However, underneath the boss was one of the most generous giving people i have ever known. My friend, Frank, is sorely missed

May 10 2020 I met Frank many years ago at St Pauls church. We were in scouts together and finished high School together. Our paths parted but we kept in touch at our many glass of '64 reunions over the years. A few years ago Frank helped me with some advise, would not accept anything but a thank you. I added a horse trip into the mountains to go fishing. That was agreed on. He could never find the time, might not have liked the thought of riding in 20 miles to sleep on the ground, so I owe him one. My last conversation with Frank was shortly before he pasted, he told what was happening. The time will come when we meet again, I look forward to that and remember the pass. John Villa

I have known Frank since 1962, through high School and collaborated with him through much of his professional legal career. He was a great friend and I'll miss him (and his stories and jokes). Please advise me regarding his memorial.

Frank was the most generous and gracious person I've ever had the pleasure to know. He was so very kind, sweet and extremely helpful to me and my father Harley. Hearing about his passing is so very sad. I'll miss him very much. I will forever cherish my fondest memories of Frank.
