Haldis Einarsen Obituary
Haldis Pauline Einarsen, 90, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Kenmore, WA on March 24, 2013. She was born on December 14, 1922 in Vik I Helgeland, Norway to Bjarne Meyer Rist and Augusta Sesilie Jorgensen. Her two brothers, Bjarne August and Alfred, preceded her in death, and her sister Ragna lives in Mo I Rana, Norway.
In 1942, Haldis married Knut Einarsen from Skarstad, Norway. In 1947, Haldis gave birth to a son, Kent Harald, in Narvik, Norway. Knut and Haldis immigrated with their son to the U.S. in 1948. A daughter, Diane Jean, was born in 1959 in Seattle, WA.
Haldis had been a member of
the Leif Erikson Lodge in Ballard, WA since 1964. She began working at the Lodge's Kaffe-Stua in 1987.
Haldis is survived by Knut, her husband of 70 years, and her son Kent, her daughter Diane, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on March 29 (Friday) at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery in Seattle, WA. A reception will be held at 3:30 at the Kaffe-Stua which is located at the Leif Erikson Lodge.

I am so sad to hear of Haldis passing away. Even though I hadn't seen Haldis for a long time, she left an imprint on my life I will never forget. Haldis opened her home to me while I was growing up, she was like a second mom to me. She was nice enough to invite me to Norway with Diane. I will never forget Haldis and all she did for me. My prayers are with you Knut, Diane and Kent and Diana. Love, Wendy

I only knew Haldis from the Lodge. She was such a sweetie. We will all miss her. Give my love to Knut.

I remeber Haldis from Norway Park, where my uncle built his home.
When I worked at Nordstrom, Haldis would always stop by and we would hug and have a short visit.
She was a bright light that shed love and humor on those around her.
Her and Knut almost owned the kitchen at " Kaffe Stua" for many years.
Their contributions have been great!
She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
