My condolences to the Mozer family and all friends of Hal. He was an early mentor during my early years at CH2M HILL in the Bellevue, WA office.
He was always willing to take time to answer questions and provide guidance to entry-level staff like me, and was approachable and friendly even though he was always busy because of repeat clients who wanted his help.
I remember one early project for a Public Utility District in eastern Washington State where Hal brought me in to do some legwork/model building on a study that had to be done every 3 years to satisfy requirements of bond covenants. Early in the study, I was confused because it looked like all of the bonds that had required this particular study had been paid off the previous year. When I asked Hal about this, he was delighted to learn that we could save the client some money. We called the client, they canceled the project and I learned an important lesson about bringing value to clients even if it reduced our consulting fees (and then I had to scramble to find my next project...)

Hello Sue:
Gladys and I are very saddened to hear/read about Hal in today's Seattle Times. He and Gladys use to work out together in the same exercise class in downtown Bellevue.
