Jake Couch Obituary

Jake Ellis Couch

1932 ~ 2016

Jake was from a proud fourth generation West Seattle family, graduated W.S. High in 1950. He served in the Korean War. He was a devoted family man who worked for Seattle City Light Underground, enjoyed skiing, the cabin he built near Crystal Mountain, the farm in Duvall, wood carving, & socializing with neighbors while walking his dog.

Jake is survived by Pauline, his wife of 62 years, their daughter

Teri Barclay (Houston), grandsons Stephen and Paul, sister Joyce Smith (James), nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by son Tim, sisters Willa Romano & Irene Snow.

Jake suffered a heart attack. Family and friends were at his side while he spent his last few days at Virginia Mason Hospital where he received excellent care.

No flowers please, memorials to West Seattle High Alumni Scholarships. There will be a Celebration of Jake's life in June.
