James Elmer Obituary
James Kenneth Elmer died peacefully at his home in Long Beach WA, June 30, 2017, at the age of 72. Jim is survived by his 3 children, Ken, Jamie and Liz, 6 Grandchildren, Brother Bob and Family. Jim was a devoted, supportive and selfless Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin, Brother and Friend. He was known for his kindness, generosity and open heart, unconditional love and compassion for all. Many friends describe him as "one of the sweetest people they ever knew". He was a philanthropist and took great satisfaction serving the community as a Guardian Ad Litem, and volunteering at Childhaven, Northwest Medical teams, the Casa Foundation and Crooked Trails.
He loved photography, running, travel, music, great friends and family, good food and wine. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.

I met Jim in 2003 in Bellevue Washington. It is true that Jim was one of the sweetest guys that you ever met. Jim would love to tell stories and loved to laugh. He attendaned my wedding in 2013 and promised me a weekend at his home in Long Beach. In January of this year he asked "When are we coming out." NEVER let life get in the way of spending time with good friends. I am sorry I did not make it out Jim. RIP dear sweet man.

Jim was very funny and fun to be with. He raised the children w/love and respect; as well as,individual consideration, creativity, and attention. He was hard-working and a creative problem-solver. We always felt safe and secure. Who else finishes their first marathon after having only run up to 17 miles in practice? He brought his family, education, Army chaplain's and church experience into his business ethics. His friends were proud to know him.
I looked forward to him coming home from work every day.
