I knew John since he wanted to buy my flat in the centre of Opatija. He was great person and friend, sensitive and intelligent. I was so sad and sorry to hear about his passing. I will remember him in my prayers:)

Dear Tony and the Hopper family,
I was very saddened to find out about John's passing. The two of us were very close as I spent a few years in Croatia after coming from Boston in 1999. He would visit me in Monaco after and we stayed in touch up until recently as I moved to Canada. I will miss him tremendously as he was one of the kindest people I have ever met and was a true friend. He cared so much for Tony and I remember him very well as we all spent time at the house in Veprinac or in Opatija. He was such a copy of his dad sometime:) Tony, feel free to reach out to me if I can help with anything.
Sincerely,
Scott Grafton

Dear Mrs. Hopper and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss and can't imagine the pain and sorrow you must feel. I knew John since 2002, when I moved to Croatia. He was always so kind, humble, polite, and always ready to help in any way he could. We shared stories and ideas regarding similar experiences with raising a child across cultures, frustrations with property ownership in Croatia and the like. John was the most dedicated father and lived for his son. I will never forget, when my daughter's Croatian father died in a car accident in 2012, how John allowed my daughter and me to stay in one of his tourist apartments during the week of the funeral. He was always offering to help, and never asked for anything for himself. I always felt I had a kindred friend to whom I could relate in Opatija and I will miss him deeply every time I return to Croatia. May God have mercy on his soul and give him peace in everlasting life. I will remember John always in my prayers.

Mrs. Hopper and family - I was so sorry to read about John's passing. I know he was one of my mother's favorite piano students and she thought the world of him as a musician and as a person. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Patti, Saw this in the morning paper. I am so deeply sorry. To me this is a mother's worst nightmare. I am not certain I would be able to put one foot in front of the other if this happened to me.
Warren passed away in July 2013. I have moved to an a Edmonds condo. My love, Paula
