Jonas Jakobsen Obituary
Jonas JAKOBSEN May 17, 1948 ~ May 26, 2007 Jonas Jakobsen, of Edmonds, went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie Marie, and loving father of Jason Jonas (Chris), James Alger (Rika), and John Trygve; and loving grandfather of Raya Renee and Haakon Noel. Jonas was born in Aakrehamn, Karmoy, Norway to Trygve and Gjertrud Jakobsen (deceased). Jonas was the youngest of four children; brother, John (Darleen); sisters, Berit (Magne), and Jorunn Karin (deceased). Jonas immigrated with his family to Seattle in 1964 and graduated from Shoreline High School in 1968. He was actively involved in the commercial fishing industry in Alaska for over 40 years. He fell in love with and married Bonnie Marie Alger in 1972. Jonas loved Edmonds and lived there with his family since 1972. This same year he became a US Citizen. His life-long passions were playing the accordion and soccer. Nothing was dearer to him than his own family. He took great pleasure in preparing the best seafood as well as traditional Norwegian dishes for his friends and family. His family lovingly remembers him as a sweet and kind man. A Memorial Service will be held on May 31 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Community Church, 10220 238th St. SW, Edmonds, WA. Remembrances may be given to the Seattle Fisherman's Memorial, P.O. i am so sorry to hear about jonas
i have been in minnesota for a month helping our daughter prepare for their new baby born two weeks ago
when i got home a friend had emailed me and told me about jonas
i would see jonas and his loving wife walk the dog
i will miss him and his kind and fun nature
wow what a choir heaven has now
my thoughts are with all of you
