Joyce Fondren Obituary

Joyce Edna FONDREN Joyce was born in Minnesota on June 19, 1931 and passed away on October 21, 2009 in Pt. Orchard, WA after a courageous battle with Parkinson's and dementia. Joyce stood by Elmer for 61 years, moving for 23 years in the Navy; raising their 3 children and fostering over 70 other children. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Assoc. Branch 18, Navy Wives Club, and worked for Washington State Social Services foster care program for 30 years. Joyce was preceded in death by parents Verne and Dorothy McGrady, brother Bob McGrady, and son-in-law Ronald Wilson. Joyce is survived by her husband Elmer; son Steven (Kerry), daughter Colleen Wilson, daughter Nancy Honsey (Howard); grandchildren Tama Carson (Jim), Joshua Wilson (Tennille), Ciera Honsey, Logan; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Lucille Ziemianski (Jay), and brother Bill. Joyce was a good friend and we made some very special memories together. I am most grateful to have had her in my life.

Mom I love you so much and miss you will all my heart. Thank you for loving and pushing me to be the person I have become. Thank you for my faith in God whom I love.
