Louis Andrew Healey

Louis Andrew Healey Jr. MD was born May 23, 1928 in the Bronx, the son of Louis A. Healey and Irene Rohrs Healey. He died December 28, 2014.

He was a graduate of Regis High School, Fordham University and Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, all in New York City.

In 1954, he married Mary Carney and came to Seattle to intern at the University of Washington. After training and serving in the Army Medical Corps, he spent five years on the faculty of the UW Medical School. He then practiced medicine specializing in rheumatic diseases at The Mason Clinic for 25 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a Master of the American College of Rheumatology from whom he received the Distinguished Rheumatologist award for 1991.

His wife, Mary, died in 2011. His brother, Tom, died in 2013. He is survived by his brother Henry and his sister Mary Livezey, his sons, Chris, Tim and Will, his daughters Kate Coyne, Meg Magee and Maria Healey. Also by his grandchildren, Matthew and Caroline Healey of San Diego, Andrew and Emma Healey and Kate and Luke Magee of Seattle, Tim, Conor and Rory Coyne of San Francisco, sons-in-law Michael Coyne and David Magee and daughters-in-law, Anne Healey, Tracy Healey and Amie Dowling.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 3 at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church.
