Mario Merlino Obituary

Mario Destino MERLINO Beloved Husband of the late Anne Marie Merlino. Died peacefully on September 9, 2003. Mario was born January 10, 1918 in Seattle, Washington to Domenic and Katherine Merlino. He graduated from O'Dea High School in 1936 and attended Seattle College (University). He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1944. On July 1, 1939, he married Anne and together they raised two sons, Gary (Donna) and Don (Joan). He was proud of his grandchildren Gregg (Bridget), Dionne, Steven, Michael (Amy), and Bradley (Erika), Ty, and Liann; and of his great grandchildren Brianna, Garett, Ariel and Elise. Mario was known for his radiant smile and vast knowledge of the practical world. We will miss his wisdom and teachings. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, September 12, 2003 at St. James Cathedral at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at the Rainier Club, 820 4th Ave. in the Rainier Room. In lieu of flowers, the family members request remembrances to Hope Heart Institute or charity of your choice. Arrangements by Butterworth-Arthur A. Wright Chapel, (206) 282-5500.
