We used to play with our band at Pier 70 and Golden Tides. Mark always treated us well. We met Mark and Dave in Hawaii and they were determined to have us in Seattle. I'm so glad he had us play at his establishments. Seattle became our second home because of Mark and Dave and a lot of the members of Burgundy Express (some from Seattle and the other half from Sacramento) ended up staying in Seattle. I was not one of them. RIP my friend love you!

My condolences on Mark's passing a couple years ago. It seems he was an outstanding individual from what I've read here.

Now I am reaching out in particular because I am a Seattle historian and I am currently working on a piece about the building Jilly's East used to be in and I understand that Mark and his brother David were the owners. So might anyone in the family be able and willing to contribute any info to the story I am writing? If so, you can reach me at [email protected] Thank you!

Mike, Quinn and family; I'm so sorry for your loss. I met your Dad at Sharky's once when he was talking to Mike. I of course like everyone else spent many nights at Charlie's, Sharky's and Debbie's over the years. I was best friends with Rich Hudson who EVERYONE knew and he grew up with Mike and that's how I met Mike & Quinn.I am going to try to attend the service. Sincerely, "Jimmy Houghton"

Joann, Bobby, Debbie, Michael, & Quinn,
I feel like I was part of the Drift on Inn Family in the early 200's. The Mitchell family MADE the Drift the wonderful place it was. Joann, I only met you a couple of times, but I know the deep love you and Mark shared. My heart goes out to you and your wonderful family.
Warm thoughts and hugs to all, Peggy Fowler

My condolences to the Mitchell family. Mark was a year or two ahead of me at Ballard High; I looked up to him, but never looked down to anyone. Mark was always fun, helping, considerate and giving from my earliest memories at James Monroe JHS when he gave me a helpful tip to our last meeting a few years ago at the Club Hollywood. Over 30 years had passed, but he made it seem like yesterday. Our thoughts remain with the family.

A wonderful employer and friend! He will be missed! I will never forget his goofy smile and laughter every day when he would check in at the Tides to make sure we all made it to work! His happiness and love of life were unsurpassed! Joanne and family, you have some wonderful memories to hang onto and that will get you through. Remember only the good times!!

I send sincere condolences to all of the family. I am Dick Mitchell's cousin ... his mother Marcella and my mother, Ethleen, being sisters. Mark was always a larger than life person who spent his days on earth in his very own and successful ways. What he did and accomplished was magical for us to follow in little old Montana. Doesn't seem possible he would ever not be with us. May all of the family find peace and strength to face your loss.

Joann, Bobby, Debbie, Michael and Quinn;

I am so very sorry to hear of Marks' passing. I have fabulous memories of the family and all of the friends I have because of Mark and Joann.

He was and is an inspiration to so many of us, showed us all, you can do anything you want if you will only perservere.

God Bless you all, the Grief journey is a long and difficult road, be patient, you will get through it, (I have been nearly 10 months in my journey)just remember Mark and all of his positive attitudes and pass them on.

Blessings to all of you,

Still remember he was one the old carpool gang going to Everett Junior College, now I'm the only one left, Brekke and Hedman gone, takes all the guesswork out of who's next.

My condolences to the Mitchell family. I worked at Quinn's with so many good friends in the restaurant on Shillshole Bay. Seems like yesterday. Mark and Joann were always so generous and vibrant in the restaurant circles. My friends and I loved the Hollywood for the collection Mark made possible on all of the walls. We all went dancing at the Drift and celebrated so many family occasions at the restaurants and bars Mark and his family owned and operated. I came back from Los Angeles recently and stopped into the Hollywood when I found out Mark had passed the day before. I was so very sorry to hear of your tremendous loss and my heart goes out to your family during this private time of remembrance of your loved one's precious life. God bless you and give you comfort and peace, Cindy Burgett
