Martha Bartron Obituary

Martha BARTRON Lived her life devoted to her family and her church. She died in the embrace of both on Jan. 29 in Vacaville at the age of 81. Born Martha Gertrude Kindall in Seattle on Aug. 5, 1921 to Edwin and Mary Gertrude Kindall and having attended Seattle University, she moved to the Bay Area in 1946, three years after she married her beloved, Wallace R. Bartron. Faithful parishioners of St. Charles Church in their new home town of San Carlos, they raised five cherished children, Paula Bartron, Jane Ma (Pony Ma), Joseph Bartron (Lisa Barton), John Bartron (Lisa Young), and Anne Bartron. Later they were graced with granddaughters Sarah Ma and Kelly Bartron. Active in church, school and community, and surrounded by family, Martha's life was near complete. The one missing piece was seeing the Giants, a team she followed with life-long passion and dedication, win the World Series. If only the team could have held on to the five-run lead in Game Six. Maybe she can replay the game in heaven and the ending will be different. In addition to her husband of nearly 60 years, children and grandchildren, Martha is survived by sisters Alice Esterby, Sr. Mary Vincent O.P. and brothers Fr. John Kindall S.J. and Edward Kindall. A Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vacaville, CA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Martha's memory be made to the Sierra Club.
