Michael Heiser Obituary

Michael K. HEISER August 22, 1960 ~ February 9, 2010 Michael passed away at home, with his wife and family at his side, on the morning of February 9th after a courageous battle with melanoma. He leaves behind his wife, Melanie, and five year old son, Drew Michael Heiser, of Seattle, WA. Michael is survived by his father, Arlen (Ute) Heiser, of Desert Aire, WA, brother, Scott (Wendy) Heiser, of University Place, WA, brothers Bryan and Brad and many other family members and friends. Michael is also dearly loved and will be missed by his wife's family including his father and mother-in-law, Gerald and Carolyn Murphy, sister-in-law, Michele Murphy, brothers-in-law, Mike (son Jake) and Matt (wife Sarah and children Jason and Madison),Grandma Esther (George) Johnson. Michael was preceded in this life by his mother, Joan, and his niece, Angela Heiser who passed away last April. He will always be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, his energetic ways and passion for his family, friends, career and business associates. Michael made friends wherever he went and was known as a "take charge" guy and "go getter" throughout his life. He idolized his son, Drew, and loved watching him play ice hockey for the Mighty Mites. He and his family also spent quality time attending Seahawks games, hockey games, family activities and outings at the family cabin on the Columbia River. Michael graduated from Peninsula High School in 1979 and attended Ft. Steilacoom Community College before entering his career in the automobile business. First, selling automobiles and eventually working his way into dealership sales and general management. His last career stop was working as a sales manager for the Bruce Titus Automotive Group where he spent the last two years. Our family would like to thank Bruce and Linda Titus, their family and employees for their generosity, caring and support during this difficult time. Although Michael was heartbroken to have left his family, he was at peace knowing that he was going home, to Heaven, to be with God.He left behind a firm Christian Foundation for his precious son and legacy, Drew, to follow. A memorial service will be held at Seattle First Free Methodist Church, 3200 3rd Avenue West, Seattle, WA 98119, on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Michael's wish was that a memorial fund be set up to benefit his son, Drew. Contributions may be made to The Michael Heiser Memorial Fund for the Benefit of Drew Heiser, at ANY Wells Fargo Bank Branch.

I didn't know Michael very well, I only spoke to him a few times, but the times that he and I worked together, he was very nice and really had a positive additude and a smile on his face. That smile will be very much missed here at B.T.A.G.

Michael will be missed by all of us. He was respected by all who worked with or for him. Always a smile and great attitude. His time at The New Wilson Ford was special to me. Jack Owen and Marianne.

Michael was a wonderful friend! I loved and appreciated his humor and positive attitude. There aren't any words that seem adequate to express the sorrow I feel both for losing my friend, and even greater - for your loss, Melanie and Drew.

My brother (Duncan) and I spent a great deal of time with both Mike and Scott while attending Wilson HS. He was funny and always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by all of us.

My thoughts an prayers go out to the Heiser family. We met Michael many years ago when he started out in the car business. My dad Dale, took him under his wing and taught him the ropes. Michael was a part of our family for many years, holiday gatherings, boat trips, other outings. I hadn't talked to him in years, but heard how he was through my dad. May he rest in peace.

Melanie, Drew and Family,
Please know that we will be there for comfort and support during this sad time. As kids, and being only 10 months apart in age, Mike and I were inseparable. I was fortunate to have him as my brother and friend. I will miss him terribly...
