Patrick Nassif passed away surrounded by his wife and five children on July 19, 2018. He was 68. Pat was a devoted family man and an accomplished engineer who balanced a formidable intellect and work ethic with a gentle spirit that touched everyone he met. Born the second of six children in Des Moines, Iowa, Pat earned an electrical engineering degree from Iowa State University and spent his early life and career in Des Moines before moving to the Seattle area in 1985.

A licensed mechanical engineer with an MBA, Pat worked for decades at Johnson Controls as a capable and compassionate manager who supported others to succeed in large-scale building projects across the Western U.S. and Canada. Pat was an avid baseball fan, lover of literature and performing arts, and a keen puzzle solver with a remarkable vocabulary and range of knowledge on subjects from geography to history. He met the love of his life, Mary Allen, in 1981. In their 36 years of marriage, Pat and Mary raised a family, shared many friendships, and enjoyed exploring their adopted home in the Pacific Northwest.

Pat was at his best outdoors, from hiking in the Olympic Peninsula to family vacations at the Oregon Coast. Pat was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's Disease in 2014. To the end, he navigated his illness with grace and dignity, aided by loving family members and caregivers who helped him make the most of his abilities, even as they declined. Pat's kindness, humor, and easy smile will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frances and Bernard Nassif. Pat is survived by his wife Mary Nassif of Issaquah; siblings Michael, William, David, and Daniel Nassif and Denise McClure; his sons Jacob Nassif (Sarah) and Benjamin Nassif; daughters Allison Nassif Gioielli (Brian), Sarah Nassif, and Emily Nassif; and grandchildren Johanna, Charley, Gene, and Olive.

A funeral will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 28th at First Congregational Church, Bellevue at 11061 NE 2nd St.
