Paul Lewan Obituary

Paul Charles LEWAN 5/19/1929 ~ 12/6/2010 Born in Detroit, to Jennie Josephine and Samuel John Lewan, Paul passed away due to complications from Alzheimer's at age 81. He served in the Korean War; retired a Captain. Graduated from University of Washington with a Masters degree in psychology, and taught at Green River Community College for 29 years, until 1994. With a love of classical music, he played violin in several local symphonies. He is survived by Carolyn, his wife of 53 years; his children, Paul Lewan Jr and Kathryn Hansen; and his brothers, George and James Lewan.A memorial service in his honor will be held at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church: 15003 14th Ave SW, Burien WA, where he was a member since 1960, at 2:30pm on December 14th. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.

We will remember Paul as a kind and friendly person who always had a smile for everyone. And we still talk about the wonderful luau party he and Carolyn had when we moved to Maui over forty years ago. Our thoughts and sympathy to Carolyn and the family.
