Paul Stencil Obituary

Paul Robert Stencil

Paul Robert Stencil, (professionally known as "Beau Roberts") born on November 11, 1956, passed into the presence of our Lord on March 17, 2017. He was born in Seattle, and grew up in Bellevue, Washington. He graduated from Sammamish High School and then went to Washington State University, where he studied broadcasting. After his junior year, he was offered his first professional disc jockey position at KRPL, a station in Moscow, Idaho. He took it, and ran from there with a successful 35-year disc jockey career. His career included several popular radio stations, in the Seattle area, among them; KNBQ, KXRX, KISW, and KZOK. He was known as the "Youngest DJ", with the "Golden Voice." Those who got to know Paul really enjoyed his fun and easy going personality. He was a humble, gentle man. Truly a blessing to all who knew him. We will miss laughing with him and his funny sense of humor. He had an illuminous laugh. A voice so full, it would just brighten up and fill any room he was in. He was a very special son, father, brother, and friend. His family, Father-Chet, Mother-Bernice, Sister-Karen, and four children, Shelly, Stephanie, Nathan, and Madeleine, along with all who knew him, will cherish the years we had to share with him.

His life celebration service will be held on May 13, 2017 at 11 am, at Overlake Christian Church: 9900 Willows Road NE, Redmond WA.

I remember doing a few things growing up with Paul and Karen and their parents because our folks were friends from church. Years later, when my daughter was in grade school, she was telling me about her classmate Maddie who turned out to be Paul's daughter! What a small world. Paul was always up for fun and I remember him being a little mischievous. I have good memories of those times.

My condolences to Paul's whole family. I was Paul's vision teacher at Norkirk Elementary in Kirkland and remember him as a cute and hard-working student. I'm glad to hear what a wonderful life he had as an adult. My thoughts are with all of his family and friends today.

I had the honor of producing much of Paul's imaging and promo copy for KZOK over the last 9 years. He was so easy and fun to work with and always worked really hard to give you that "perfect take". I will miss him very much. My best wishes to his family.

Paul was such a wonderful friend, encourager, and amazing father to his kids. We worked together at KZOK and sometimes he would babysit my daughter, Alyssa, while I was at work. She still remembers those fun times! We would often pray together and talk about God and his desire to have his eyesight healed. Thank you Jesus that Paul can see all of heaven's wonders and beauty now. We miss you Paul but we will see you again someday in heaven.

Paul, my big brother and best buddy. He was my kind, and funny blessing. I miss him more than I can express. He was such an encourager through life. I will remember his encouraging words now more than ever. His life such an inspiration, so talented, yet humble. His precious life will be remembered forever. I am so thankful God let him be my big brother. I know he is dancing in heaven, and seeing more beauty and splendor than he ever has before. I will miss him, and treasure the few years of life I got to share with him. You take good care of him now Jesus.
