Simon Rosa Obituary

Simon James Rosa

On Sunday, September 24, 2017, Simon James Rosa passed away peacefully with his family and friends by his side. God knew that Simon was in pain here on earth, so he brought him home.

Simon was born in Bogota, Colombia on 11/28/1984. Lucky for him, Jim Rosa and Linda Foley were patiently waiting for their little boy to come home to Washington! Simon and his brother Alex, spent their days playing with cousins & friends, having fun and making memories. They loved sports and also causing as much mischief as possible! Simon was a beautiful boy, and loved by everyone who met him.

While he was very proud of his roots, he would always say he was, "Born Colombian, but raised Italian" and as we all know, a little Mexican too!

Jim always says that Simon has lots of brothers and sisters, and he's right. Simon could light up any room he walked into, his charismatic smile and laughter made you want to be near him. He had a way of making everyone in his life feel special and important. While he was as stubborn as they come, there wasn't a single thing he wouldn't do for his family & friends if they needed him. He loved unconditionally and will be remembered dearly for his kind heart.

Simon loved music, sunshine, and the blue angels. But most importantly, he loved his son Zaydin. Simon loved his little boy, with eyelashes for days, and couldn't believe how lucky he was to be a father to such an amazing child. Simon always told people that Zaydin's mother, Shannon, was his best friend and he knew that he had picked the perfect mother for his son.

Simon was taken too soon, but he wouldn't want to be remembered that way. He would want everyone to keep his memory alive with the stories and love that we have all experienced through him. He'd want us to remind Zaydin everyday of the love he had for him. But most importantly, all of the good times, because all Simon ever wanted to do was make people feel happy and loved. We can count ourselves lucky to carry his memory in our hearts everyday.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, please feel free to make a donation to our gofundme account, Zaydin's Rainbow, for funeral and medical costs as well as future care for Zaydin. Simon will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery.

You will be missed by so many. It is amazing to see how many people you have touched. It's written just how it was in the obituary, you made everyone feel important and loved. I will always remember how you lit up the room, always calling people out, but in a joking manner. Many dad's wish they could be the way you were to your son. Our prayers go out to you, your family and your friends.

I wasn't blessed to have an opportunity to know you Simon and I'm sad for that, but have been blessed to know Dawn, your Aunt since we were young teens and the wonderful mother of your child, Shannon. You were so loved and know they will very much keep your memory alive. Rest in peace and we will meet you one day.... much love.
