Sylvia McDaniel Obituary

Sylvia White McDaniel

June 3, 1963 ~ April 5, 2016

Sylvia McDaniel spread kindness like confetti. She loved woods, water and wild things, people, travel, and sailing. Honored with a National Merit Scholarship when graduating Juanita High, Kirkland 1981, she also lived in Germany as an exchange student. Her Journalism major at WSU side-lit a lifetime of writing poetry. Sylvia found her natural habitat with kindred spirit, Pat Hill, in Montana's Gallatin Valley. Her last conversation was of the coming summer music circuit-happy gatherings, hot springs, road trips, and camping under the big Montana sky. Both singer and aficionado, she commanded respect in the Bozeman music scene. Sylvia's passing leaves a silence we all hope to fill with memories of her lively spirit.

She is survived by her beloved, Pat Hill; mother, Katherine Constable; stepfather, Roger Constable; daughter, Brenna Poppe; sisters, Cristina McGlynn and Elizabeth Steppe; aunts, Judith Heath and Linda Smith; nephew Seamus McGlynn; and nieces, Sarah McGlynn, Madeline and Gabrielle Steppe.

A celebration of Sylvia's life will be held Saturday June 4th at 2pm, Mountaineers Club, 7700 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle.
