Wilma Turner Obituary

Wilma Louise Turner

Wilma (Willie) Louise Turner, 87 years, has left us for her new adventures. Born in Latham, Kansas on November 21, 1927, Wilma was a girl with many talents growing up in her hometown where she was an accomplished baton twirler in her school and later won a championship contest in the game of jacks and ball state competition where she was photographed by the town newspaper honoring her accomplishments.

Wilma's family moved to Kent, Washington in the early 40's where she graduated from Kent High School and met and married her soul mate, Elzie Turner, and eventually they had three children.

Wilma loved the great outdoors, camping, gardening, and watching her favorite sports like wrestling and the Seahawks.

She is survived by her three adult children, Sandra Day of Burien, Washington, Cindy Jones of Auburn, Washington, and Michael Turner of Kent, Washington, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

During the war, Wilma worked for the shipyards and later did modeling for Mr. Rottles of Kent, now located in Auburn, Washington. She also worked for the Kent Bakery and finished her working career with fifteen years of service with the Kent School District. Her family, friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing this lovely person will miss her greatly as she truly was a loving wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.

Rest in Peace Mom.

Forever in our Hearts.

Dear Grandma, there are so many memories of you . All of them good. You were very soft and tuff at the same time. And when you laughed it was contagious and impossible not join in with you. There wasn't a mean bone in your body. I will cherish and remember you and the joy you brought into my life

So sorry to hear of Wilma's passing. We were both of the 'old Kent', also knew your Grandmother, she worked for my father. Prayers to your family.
