Alice Jean Goodwin
SEDALIA — Alice Jean Goodwin, 78, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Sedalia, MO. She was born on January 13, 1940 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Fred Powell and Ellen (Byers) Powell who preceded her in death.
On December 2, 1961 in Warrensburg, MO, she was united in marriage to Raymond Lee Goodwin, Sr., who survives of the home.
Alice graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelors degree in Education with a minor in mathematics. She was an elementary school teacher in Kansas City for 30 years. Alice enjoyed traveling the Midwest every weekend driving her husband to sprint car race tracks so Ray Lee could compete.
In addition to her husband Raymond, she is survived by two sons, Raymond Goodwin, Jr. and Steven Goodwin (Sheila) of Sedalia; and two grandchildren, Grace and Grant Goodwin.
A mass of christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mark Miller officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Steven Goodwin, Jerry Fagg, Charles Tippie, Ron Covell, Jim Curp and Shawn Bestgen.
Honorary bearer will be Grant Goodwin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Alices mom and dad were our neighbors. I remember going to the races with Ray Lee and Alice when they were dating. Alice was dedicated to teaching. Ray, Ray Lee, Jr. and Steve, we are so sorry for your loss.
