Mable Chessmore Obituary

Mable Chessmore, 66 went to be with our Lord on September 3, 2010 in Sedalia, Missouri after a 12 year battle with Cancer.

Mable was born on June 2nd, 1944 in North Platte, Nebraska to Charles and Cecil (Staal) Chessmore. Mable graduated from North Platte high school in 1962. Upon graduation she went into the ministry to be a Salvation Army Officer and completed her schooling two and a half years later. After placement in several cities and states, Mable moved to Sedalia, MO where she lived the remainder of her life.

After ending her commission several years later, Mable started a career in nursing. She became an LPN and worked in several nursing homes and hospitals in and near Sedalia. After being an LPN she then went to work at Zephyrs until she was forced to retire due to cancer 25 years later.

She was survived by brothers Clifford (Clara) Chessmore of Gothernburg, Nebraska, Howard (Wanda) Chessmore of Calloway, Nebraska, and Harold Chessmore of Hays Center, Nebraska and sister Margaret (Donald) Herbert of Cozad, Nebraska. Mable was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Mable was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents and a close lifetime friend, Marj Weber.

Mable will be cremated and memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Chapter in Sedalia, MO. The family has established a memorial. Condolences may be sent to Margaret Herbert, 32101 Rd 757, Cozad, Nebraska, 69130.

i worked with may up til the time she quit. may and i always got along really good. i recall the last time she was in to visit and came and told me it was just a matter of time for her. i know she had a long battle with cancer .... i know now she is not suffering any more and is in the hands of our lord..........
