Trevor Leary Obituary

Trevor Ross Leary

SEDALIA — Trevor Ross Leary, 24, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017. He was born on February 28, 1993 the son of Timothy P. Leary and Amy J. and John Towns, who survive of Sedalia.

Trevor's life was filled with adventure, and shared with family and many friends. He knew no stranger, and was the first to join any journey in search of fun and good times. From an early age Trevor showed his athletic ability playing soccer.

His love of the sport continued through his high school years. He was a proud four-year letterman for the Smith-Cotton soccer team. The joy he displayed playing the game was equally matched by the rowdy support from his fans in the stands.

Countless hours of Trevor's teenage years were spent at the local skate park. His bike was as good as a best friend, with many an afternoon spent just the two of them exploring the streets of Sedalia. As the boy grew into a man, his adventures transitioned from the skate park to the working world. Jack-of-many-trades, Trevor tried his hand in the fields of auctioneering services, manufacturing, and lastly as a deck hand at Ingram Barge Company.

Trevor will be forever remembered as a kind and caring son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two loving and charismatic brothers, Tanner Joel Leary and Trenten Blaine Leary of Sedalia, and his step-sister Kaylie Towns of Golconda, IL; maternal grandparents, Gary and Marsha Yancey of Sedalia; paternal grandparents, John and Nancy Leary of Sedalia; and his most loyal four-legged friend, Molly. Also surviving are five adoring cousins, Ella and Brecken Bowers of Liberty, MO, Danielle Richardson and McKenzy Kennedy of Sedalia and Drew Leary of Jefferson City.

A Celebration of Trevor's Life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Jerry Jones officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Smithton Cemetery.

Paul bearers will be Cameron Anderson, Michael Anderson, Jonathan Bowers, Emery Greene, Brant Smith, and Garrett Young.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Recovery Lighthouse at: https://www.recoverylighthouse.org/sponsors-partners. Recovery Lighthouse, Inc. is a nonprofit substance abuse recovery support agency based in Johnson and Pettis Counties of Missouri.
