Clifford Brunk Obituary

Clifford Daniel Brunk
Sept. 6, 1944 – Aug. 7, 2025

In Loving Memory of Danny Brunk
Born, Clifford Daniel Brunk on Sept. 6, 1944, the son of Eva (Whiteside) Brunk and Stanley Brunk in the Minerals Springs community. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, August 7th, 2025.
Danny loved his family and loved taking them on adventures-from camping at the creek or river to exploring the National Parks, from the big trees in California to the Smokey Mountains. A gentle and patient soul, Danny lived a life of service, kindness, and dedication.
He was always willing to lend a hand. Whether physically able or not, Danny supported others-offering guidance, encouragement, and a keen eye for detail. Over the years, he mentored many, including numerous friends of his children, all of whom found a warm welcome in his home.
Danny was the president of the Muldrow Public Schools Class of 1962. He had an exceptional mind, especially for math-rarely needing pencil and paper to solve even the most complex problems. He married his sweetheart, Kay Ragg on May 17, 1963, and together they raised five children.
Throughout his career, Danny held various positions with The Flasher Company and Ward/DeSoto Furniture. He was a cattleman and a certified A.I. technician. In the 1970s, he earned the nickname "Right Hand Man Dan" at Crawford County Speedway, where he served as the flagman and car inspector and also ran the water truck and helped with cleanup. If it needed doing, Danny was there.
Much of his adult life was spent self-employed. As the owner and master wood craftsman of B&B Mfg., Danny built a legacy of hard work, ingenuity, and generosity.
He always had a job available for any family member who wanted one, and he instilled in his children a deep appreciation for honest labor. His inventive mind constantly sought out ways to work smarter, not harder. He could make the most out of a single piece of lumber, his scrap pile was small. His wood trim supplied many of the small-town furniture builders in the area for years.
When the local furniture industry began to slow down and retirement age neared, Danny "went to town" and worked for larger furniture manufacturers. Even past traditional retirement age, he never stopped working-continuing until his health no longer allowed it in the final months of his life.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers J.C. Morgan, George "Buck" Brunk, Charles Brunk, and Don Brunk; and his sisters, Pauline Morgan and Faye Robison.
Danny was a born again Christian. He leaves behind his beloved wife Kay of the home, son, Billy Brunk and wife, Mary Kaye of Roland; son, Jerry Brunk and wife, Ginger of Central; daughter, Gina Breeden and husband, Darrell of Muldrow; daughter, Sherri Cude of Muldrow; and son, Jason Brunk of Muldrow. He was a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 26 (and counting) great-grandchildren. His ol dog Buddy and his special work friend Bill.
Danny leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, mentorship, and hard work. His impact will be felt for generations in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the family he so deeply cherished.
Cremation services are under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
