David Davies Obituary

David Jonathon Davies
April 25, 1974 – Jan. 30, 2024

David Jonathon Davies of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
David was born in Fort Smith, Ark., on April 25, 1974, to Jonnye Kay Sabin and the late David George Gwinfi Davies.
David loved others with the heart of Jesus. He loved serving others and kindness was his trademark. He led two separate mission teams to Ukraine and India. He also served as College Pastor of Fellowship Bible Church from 2004 to 2008.
David was a National Merit Scholar at Muldrow High School. He graduated with Honors from the University of Tulsa in 1996. He was offered a Road's Scholar Fellowship but declined because he wanted to serve the Lord and go into college ministry. After spending a couple of years on staff with Student Mobilization, an interdenominational college ministry, he attended the University of Arkansas, School of Law and graduated with Honors from Law School in 2001. Upon graduation, he accepted a job from Arkansas Attorney General Mark Pryor to serve as Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Division. He handled over one hundred and fifty appeals before the Arkansas Court of Appeals and Arkansas Supreme Court and never lost a case. David went into private practice in 2006 where he focused on Elder Law and Estate Planning. He was also an accredited Veteran's Attorney, helping veterans navigate the Veteran's Administration System.
As a lifelong basketball fan, David treasured his close and privileged friendship with Kevin Durant. He was also an avid sports enthusiast of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Tigers, and of course any team on which Kevin Durant played.
David was preceded in death by his father David Davies and his sister Beth Camille.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Kay Sabin; sisters, Tenise Gardner, Savannah Banning, Jan Weinheimer and Gwen Hammer; brother, Greg Reynolds and Shawn Capps, who was like a brother to him; nieces, Jarrah (Garrett) Caughman and Audrah Reynolds; nephews, Evan and Ryan Gardner; and greatnephew, Parker Caughman.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. A celebration of life service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Homestead Heights Community Church in Fort Smith.
