Oct. 30, 1940 – Aug. 31, 2024

Mary Anita Tibbits, 83, of Roland, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024 in Hutchinson Kan.
Anita was born in Adair County, Oklahoma on Oct. 30, 1940, the daughter of Fay and Clara Tibbits. She was a 1958 graduate of Cedarville high school; received an Associates of Arts Degree from West Ark Community College in 1968; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Spanish in 1970 and a Master's of Science Degree in Spanish in 1972 from the University of Arkansas. She also did graduate work in Madrid, Spain. Anita taught 30 years at Roland High School. Anita was an active member of the Church of Christ in Roland Oklahoma prior to moving to Kansas.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda K. and Brian Holzman; grandsons, Rylen and Kade Holzman; granddaughter, Ella Holzman; and one sister, Zita Worth.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fay and Clara Tibbits; and siblings, Ray Tibbits, Donald Tibbits, Glenda Tibbits and Lula Grace Barnes.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Sept. 6, 2024, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, Ark., with burial to follow at the Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam, Ark., under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Rylen Holzman, Matthew Moses, Terry Jones, Tom Jones, Jacob Workman and Josh Workman.
