Here is a repeat of one of of the kind of - (she wrote many "types" of poems) - that seems meditative now in 2024, since Adrianne died in 2019, so sharp & so clear looking back: "Dear Friend, Dear Island"

When you asked me, afterwards,
how many days it really rained
when I was on the island, I told
you six. Out of the time I spent
and all that sun. You
pointed out the darkness I
Described was equal to all that light.

Dear Friend, dear island, one
travels just to be alone. No
one expects the perfect place.
I wish I'd known then.
Or what I'd lose by leaving.
My answer would have been:
the same."

Adrianne was a fabulous Poet. Here is the link from You Tube of
her reading one of her poems:

She gave me her Collection of Poetry called "Journeys and Destinations" from 1996. It is frustrating that I can't paste in one of her poems here as a tribute, but it appears that the policy here is to not allow any poetry. Will see...

She wrote restaurant reviews, loved dogs and art. Fondly remember her love of cooking. I re-designed her kitchen for her and the focal point was a 60" gas Commercial stove. She is missed!

To my great sorrow i learned of Adrianne's death on Ron Silliman's east coast poetry blog. My and Richard Steger's thoughts to Ian and to Stacey, Shelby, and Sarah. We had been friends from 1970. We met in each other's places (and before that, William Dickey's and Frances Mayes') from then up to this last year. Adrianne was respected and honored for her poetry and her intelligence.

Dear Stacey: I am very sorry for your loss and send my prayers to you and your family. I have often thought about you and wondered where you were. I started typing some memories but thought they may be too personal for this online journal. Would love to reminisce about being best friends all those years. If you are in town - I live in San Francisco 415.921.1772 or [email protected]. Laura Martin Lambert

I met her twice, once at Sarah's wedding and once at Sarah's mvoing away party. In the brief exchanges we had, she invited me to her house to visit with her and her dogs and expressed an intense interest in me..for no reason other than I was next to her and her curiosity, and humor were so apparent. I am so sorry she is gone, I know how deeply Sarah and Jim felt about her leaving them and I send my condolences to her entire family.
