Albert Boragno Obituary

Albert J. Boragno A longtime resident of Millbrae, passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Al is survived by his wife of 63 years and high school sweetheart, Laura Boragno. He is also survived by his three children: Richard (Jill) Boragno, Denise (Mike) Corvi and Robert (Sue) Boragno; his seven grandchildren: Rich (Manette), Steven, Joe, Nick, Christine Boragno, Michele (DJ) Novotney, and Jim (Tiffany) Corvi; his four great-grandchildren: Anthony and Sofia Boragno, and Lauren and Ashley Novotney. He is also survived by his sister Beatrice (Pat); his brother John (Lila); his sisters-in-law, Rose (Dal) Poggetto, Betty Shattuck and Sylvia (Kevin) Monahan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born on March 27, 1922 in San Mateo, he was raised in San Francisco and attended Commerce High School. Al enlisted in the US Navy during World War II; he received the distinguished Navy and Marine Corps Medal on July 31, 1945 for his quick and gallant action. Founder of the Millbrae and SF Airport Florist in 1951 he retired from the flower industry in 1983, came out of retirement and worked as a US Customs Inspector for 12 years. Al was best known for the love and dedication he had for his wife, children, grand-children, and great grand-children who adored him. Deeply devoted to his family and well-known for his warm and witty smile, he will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Family and Friends are invited to the Memorial Mass Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:00 pm St. Pius Church, 1100 Woodside Road, Redwood City to celebrate his life. Private Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. We especially appreciate and thank the Hospice staff of Kaiser Hospital for their unfailing support. His family appreciates donations to Kaiser Hospice and Parkinson Association.

Al was such a wonderful person; we will miss him very much. He was such an interesting man and always a pleasure to visit with. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.
