Albert Theis Obituary

Albert Theis
July 12, 1931 - November 17, 2023
Albert Edward Theis "Bert" passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023, at the age of 92 after a recent diagnosis of colon cancer. Bert was predeceased by his loving wife, Ann, and is survived by his beloved children, Christopher Theis (Denice), Renee Hinson (Jerry), and Monica Krauer (Pete).
Bert was born in San Francisco and attended Star of the Sea School, St. Ignatius High School and University of San Francisco. In 1953, he graduated with a degree in Business and Marketing.
After graduation, Bert joined the Army where he served honorably, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant of Artillery. He would often speak of his time stationed at the Nike Missile Site in Camp Hanford, Wash. He was a proud veteran.
Bert started his 60 year working career in the electronics industry as a buyer at Dalmo-Victor in Belmont, Calif., in 1954 and later at Ampex in Redwood City, Calif. With his employment at Halbar Associates, headquartered in Los Angeles, he "switched sides" and became a manufacturers rep. He eventually retired from The Pentagon Company, also headquartered in Los Angeles, at the age of 84.
Bert was the quintessential family man. He loved spending time with Ann and their three children and was involved in their many activities. In later years, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren, Christopher Theis, Robbie and Sean Hinson, and Nick and Sophia Krauer. He enjoyed spending summer weekends in Healdsburg, Calif., during the 70's and 80's where Ann and the kids would spend summers at their vacation home on Fitch Mountain.
Bert was a die-hard 49ers fan, beginning with their first season in San Francisco in 1946. The team played at Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park, across the street from his childhood home. His reward for being a faithful 49ers fan was attending the 49ers first Super Bowl in Pontiac, Mich., in January 1982.
Bert was a loyal friend, devoted husband and loving father. He will be greatly missed. A funeral Mass celebrating Bert's life will be held at St. William Catholic Church, 611 S. El Monte Ave., Los Altos, Calif. 94022, on Thursday, December 14th at 2 p.m.
Donations in Bert's memory may be made to The Catholic Worker Hospitality House at 672-2nd Avenue, San Bruno, Calif. 94066, or to Disabled American Veterans, DAV.com" target="_new" rel="nofollow">www.DAV.com.

This is from Jeff Costa. I lived in Healdsburg and met the entire Theis family while they were vacationing there and spent many times with them. They made me feel like family. Wonderful family, all of them. To Chris, Monica and Rene my heart and best wishes go out to all of you. Not sure if this condolence will reach any of you. If it does please reach out to me at [email protected]. I would love to hear from any of you. God bless all of you. Jeff

The ultimate gentleman. It was a privilege knowing him and his beautiful wife, Ann, who he will now join.
