Hi to all of those who loved Arnold,
I just found out today (05.11.08) that Arnold died. I am one of Arnold's cousins. Arnold and his brothers Johnny and Chuckie and my brother Billy were all a part of the growing up in southern New Jersey. Going to Wildwood with our grandparents, family gatherings, etc. I have very found memories of those days.
The last time I saw Arnold was when I was on business in San Franciso. It was about 20 years ago. Janet, my wife, was along and I said you have to meet my cousins Arnold and Chuckie (Charles now). Arnold look us on a tour of the city and it was wonderful. We still speak of our trip to SF with that memory. Janet was shocked to hear of his passing. As was I. He was fun to be around.
The only thing I regret is that he became a Giants fan! Whenever the Phillies and Giants play I wondered if Arnold was watching the game.
With much sympathy,
Mike and Janet Smith

…just a note to express our sympathy for your great loss. Arnold was our Local 510 Union brother and we will miss his presence among us. Thank you for sharing some of his passions in this moving tribute. We will proudly join family and friends in appreciation of gladiolas and the Boss in Arnold's memory!

I listened to Tenth Avenue Freeze out yesterday in Arnold's honor :). I wish we could have spent more time together, but the thing I remember most about Arnold was his wacky sense of humor and how happy he was with Marcy and then Sammy of course. I also remember Marcy telling us about when she got her then new dog and how great Arnold was with them. Just a good guy all around. I pray that he's surrounded by Bruce's best stuff in a sea of Gladiolas and best of all in no pain.

Good friends should never ask other friends to help them move. And yet, when Arnold found out we were heading up from Foster City to the East Bay, he insisted he be allowed - that was the kind of guy he was!
I only regret I didn't take him up more often on his offer to show up with a tool belt and labor with me on various projects around my place. I felt guilty asking, but all he wanted was to hang with me, plus he genuinely loved to work with his hands and to lend a helping hand.
I'll miss him! Take care.

Marcy, this is really touching. I am so glad you were able to work the word zany in there. Love to you and Sammy.

Arnold inspired us with his creative mind, strong opinions, love of life, and (this is a big one for us, as we met Arnold through Marcy after knowing and loving her for a long time) his unabashed devotion to Marcy and Sammy. Although we live far away and wish we could have seen Arnold more, we share the loss felt by his family and his other friends. We also join you in keeping his memory alive by appreciating gladiolas, playing The Boss loud, and rooting for the Giants (against everyone except the Red Sox).

My gladiolas are budding now and I will always associate them with Arnold who was a loving son-in-law.
