Barbara Rohlapp Obituary
Barbara Shirley Rohlapp, 87, of San Mateo, CA passed away March 25, 2021 peacefully in her sleep.
Barbara was born January 11, 1934 and was raised by her parents Blanch and Carl in San Francisco. She graduated from San Francisco State and had a long successful career as a very influential elementary teacher at Leonard R Flynn in San Francisco. Barbara and her sister Charlotte moved to San Mateo and went on to raise five of their god children as their own, who lost their parents at a young age. Barbara was a woman who led by example, she was kind, empathetic, humble, she was a dedicated friend and family member who made herself available whenever needed. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, theater, playing cards, going to baseball and football games, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She gave this world far more than she took from it.
Barbara is preceded in death by her best friend and sister Charlotte, brother Howard and parents Blanch and Carl. She is survived by her five godchildren Ben, Danielle, Jess, Adam, Jordan, their spouses and children and many other family members that loved and adored her.
Her burial service will be held at Olivet Memorial Park in Colma, CA on April 16that 11am. A celebration of life will happen on April 17th in Santa Rosa, CA.

What a strange world. I was scrolling today's obituaries as my father just passed and his obituary was in today's paper and I came across obituary for Mrs Rohlapp. She was my third grade teacher that was then called the Le Conte elementary. I was a very shy kid then. She encouraged me to come out of my shell by having me knit some slippers for her in exchange for a
Monopoly game. She and Mrs Howard were very influential in my life. Seeing her obituary today it's like seeing the world come full circle.
