My dear old classmate, friend! 1942 was the year we met at Notre Dame des Victories. My childhood memories are filled with wonderful times spent with you not just in school but the crazy times we had, not the least being, across the street from your home. No one except those of us goofy enough to climb the step ladders leading to the top of the dome of The Palace of Fine Arts and chase each other around the base of the dome would ever believe we did that. The yellow Stop and Go Sign at the entry of your home just across the street. The countless birthdays you were always attending for your classmates. The re-unions of our class of '51!! Yes my dear friend you will always be a part of my life. I look forward to the day that we are all called by Our Creator and catch up with all of you that have gone before me. God Bless you and yours. J.P. Silva (aka) Hippo

I was invited by the Newsom family in August 1975, first by William, then Brennan. As a yound and shy Frenchman whose English was poor, and who was traveling outside Europe for the first time, I was not able enough to communicate well with Brennan and his family. I have good memories, though, but more than anything else, it took me years until I finally realized how this time in San Anselmo changed my life. I learned a lot from Brennan whose kindness was never challenged. I owe him (and the Newsome family in general) a lot, and I can only deeply regret that I have not been in a position to express my gratitude before. I do it now, hoping it is not to late for his relatives if they happen to read these words. Brennan was an extraordinary man, I am sure no one can deny this. I have no doubt his children (I remember Jennifer and BJ) have inherited most of his qualities and here I send them a warm salute. Maybe one day we'll meet and I can tell them how much I appreciated these few weeks in such a nice family.
Warm regards to you all.

I never got to meet Brennan but I know him well through his daughter Chloe, one of my best friends. Chloe is one of the best people I know, and I know that is partly because of her wonderful father. This man gave me one of my true best friends and for that I thank him!

I haven't seen much of Brennan for the last several years, just a few phone calls, usually business-related. However, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to his entire family. Goodbye, My Friend

Brennan may have occasionally arrived on the late side for a dinner party but, if called in distress, he was there in rapid time to offer empathy, share wisdom and lift spirits with humor and love.
A true iconoclast. RIP dear Brennan
In fondest memory, Lynn

Remembering the best of times - dinner with the Newsoms. Brennan at the head of the table, friends and family gathered around. A delicious meal. A great bottle of red wine. Good music. An intellectually stimulating conversation - always laced with Brennan's passion and humor. It was a much appreciated privilege for me and Ryan to be among those sitting at the Newsom's table. I shall cherish those memories forever.

Thinking of Brennan, at the house, visiting mom and dad as they grew old. He brought a smile to their faces every time he came by. He brought back memories of the days growing up in the Marina. He made the time for others. He was a caring and compassionate individual. Will miss him dearly.
